She should have died hereafter;

There would have been a time for such a word.

To-morrow, and to-morrow, and to-morrow,

Creeps in this petty pace from day to day

To the last syllable of recorded time,

And all our yesterdays have lighted fools

The way to dusty death. Out, out, brief candle!

Life’s but a walking shadow, a poor player

That struts and frets his hour upon the stage

And then is heard no more: it is a tale

Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,

Signifying nothing.

In this scene Macbeth gets the news that his wife has been killed, by suicide, and he despairs, saying life is now pointless, and his life has been wasted and is empty without the people, loyalty, and friends from his life, he realises power and wealth do not bring happiness or value, and that time is inevitable, and that his has ultimately been wasted. His mental state has declined from a honourable man to a lone tryant who is unhappy and unforfilled. Then a messenger tells him the Burnum forest is coming, and he panics!
