Macbeth: Shows how ambition can be BAD and dangerous- bring out the worst in people. Symbols: Blood, daggers, stars,
Gattaca: Shows how can be GOOD and bring out the best in people. Symbols: Blood (identity), sky, DNA/Staircase,
Ozymandias: Shows how shallow and unimportant human ambition is and the reality that we all turn to “sand” and die in the end.
Lord Of The Rings: Shows how achieving your ambitions with no morality or discipline (eg Sauron getting ring) leads to a hollow and terrible life, compared to achieving ambitions with morality (like Frodo) which makes you a hero and a respectable person.
Preparation
1- What aspect of ambition I am focusing on: The balance between morality and ambition. How you don’t need huge ambitions to feel content and happy, it just depends on the person.
